This Privacy Policy explains what information Lnqinfo (the "Service"), operated by Petra Software Industries ("we", "us"), collects, how we use it and who can see it.
1. Information we collect
When you shorten a link
- The original address you shortened, the short code and when the link was created.
- If you're signed in, the link is linked to your account.
- An optional title and password you add. Link passwords are stored encrypted (hashed), never in plain text.
When someone opens a short link
Each visit to a short link records:
- the visitor's IP address;
- the browser and its version, the operating system and its version, and the device type (desktop, mobile or tablet), plus the device model when the browser shares it;
- the approximate country and city, worked out from the IP address and shown to the link owner on a map;
- the browser's preferred language;
- the referrer, meaning the page the visitor came from, if the browser shares it;
- any UTM parameters added to the short link (such as
utm_sourceorutm_campaign); - the date and time of the visit;
- whether the visitor has opened the same link before. To work this out, we keep a one-way code made from the IP address and browser details, which can't be turned back into them;
- whether the link was opened through its password page.
Automated visits, such as the link previews made by WhatsApp, Facebook or search engines, are also recorded and labeled as bots.
When you have an account
- Your name, email address and role.
- Your password, stored encrypted (hashed), never in plain text.
- A log of actions taken in the dashboard, such as signing in and out and creating, editing or deleting links, users and settings.
2. How we use this information
- To redirect visitors to the right address.
- To show link owners and administrators statistics about their links.
- To enforce click limits and password protection.
- To keep the Service secure and to detect and prevent abuse.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
3. Who can see it
- The owner of a link can see the visit information for their own links.
- Administrators of the Service can see all links, all visit information and the activity log.
4. Cookies
We use the cookies needed for the Service to work: a session cookie that keeps you signed in and remembers things like the homepage check question, and a security cookie that protects forms.
We may also use analytics tools, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, on our pages (including the dashboard) to understand how people use the site. Microsoft Clarity may record how you move around and click on a page; it hides passwords and API tokens. These tools set their own cookies and collect information such as the pages you view, how you interact with them, your approximate location and your device. We don't use advertising cookies.
5. Third-party services
- To work out a visitor's approximate location, we use the IP to City Lite database by DB-IP, stored on our own server. The IP address isn't sent to DB-IP or any other service for this.
- Visitor maps load map images from OpenStreetMap, which receives the IP address of the person viewing the map.
- Our pages load fonts and scripts from third-party content delivery networks, which receive your IP address when your browser downloads them.
- If analytics are turned on, Google (Google Analytics) and Microsoft (Microsoft Clarity) receive information about your visits to our pages, as described in their own privacy policies.
6. How long we keep information
We keep the information described above for as long as the Service is running. It isn't deleted automatically.
- When a link is deleted, all of its visit information is deleted with it.
- When an account is deleted, the account information is removed. The links it created stay active and are no longer linked to any account.
7. Security
We protect the information we hold with reasonable technical measures, such as encrypted (hashed) passwords and restricted access to the dashboard. No method of storing or sending information over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
